I loved this film when it came out and laughed and cried at so much of it! As you have read in a previous blog I have done a lot of buttonholes for weddings with the latest for Sarah who is going to Emily's wedding. It is strange now to look back at when they were in my class in the infants and now they are all grown up! I have a new challenge now and that is to make my first funeral sheaf for my mother in law and a vase of her favourite flowers. This is so poignant and very important that I get it right because it is for a very special person to me and her family. I know that all funeral flowers are very special as it is the last thing you ever do for your loved one so they have to be more than perfect. I am using freesias that my sister in laws and brother in law asked for especially because they were her most definitely her favourites and also some lily of valley too because they were in her wedding bouquet. I have chosen a few more flowers but I have chosen flowers that mean more special things. To complement the yellow freesia I have chosen some stunning deep yellow roses. With the purple freesia I am adding the beautiful purply blue scabious like the one in the picture and fuschia because they were grown in the garden by my father in law when he was alive. Lavender was another favourite of hers so I am putting a few sprigs in and they will give a gorgeous scent too.To finish off I am using some bells of Ireland (Mollucella Laevis), a gorgeous purple thistle and last but not least some deep purple buddleia from the butterfly bush because of the significance of butterflies. Any one who knows me will tell you about me and butterflies! Weddings and funerals are a time when you chose your favourite flowers so please go to my facebook page or message me to tell me what your favourite flowers are and if you post a picture too it will be great.
