What have florists and footballers got in common?

What have florists and footballers got in common apart from they both begin with 'f' I hear you say? Actually you could put a whole list of professionals together in this question but it was the fantastic result that Burnley have had this season and the comments that the players made at the end of the season that made me look at my own work and what it takes to be a florist and set up my own business. Floristry is a new venture for me following more than 33 years as a teacher and in both professions I have had to train and learn new skills just like the footballers. Like them too, I have got better the harder I have worked and the more I have trained, learnt and practiced then the more stunning arrangements I have been able to create. Being dedicated to my career choices goes without saying and Burnley have achieved such greatness by their dedication too. I have a great passion for flowers and floristry just as Burnley footballers have for, what I think is, one of the greatest football teams. I am so pleased for their promotion this year into the Premiership. They have saluted their fans who have given great support and have encouraged and cheered them on. I am pleased to say I have had great support from my family, friends and customers too who have done exactly the same to me. I am so grateful they have encouraged me, praised my work, given brilliant feedback and supported my floristry work and my business,so thank you to you all. Sean Dyche famously said as they approached the end of the season 'we have a strong jaw' and believe me there are times when I have needed one too but I have learnt from the situations when things have gone wrong and have always been determined to get it right and didn't give up until I got it right! I love working with flowers just as much as footballer love their work too. So in common there is lots and I think the only difference is I will never be paid so handsomely as them but who cares the joy and satisfaction I get when I look and think I have done that is generous payment indeed!
